How To Find The Best Children's Swimwear

Children’s swimwear is sometimes a bit difficult to find, especially during the off season.  You can find swimwear for women all year long at some of those ladies designer swimwear stores at the mall, but where do you find children’s swimwear, especially in the right size and something that your child won’t refuse to wear?

Yes, kids are picky when it comes to their clothes, and it doesn’t get any better as they get older.  You might get away with taking a baby to the beach in swimsuits that they didn’t hand pick themselves, but once they get to be toddlers and older, forget it.  That swimsuit has to have just the right color on it or the right character or they won’t wear it.

Once the toddlers grow a bit it gets even worse.  Not only can their swimsuits not have any characters on it, but they have to have the latest design on it.  If frogs are in, don’t dare buy them dolphins!  And once they become a junior they start to regress.  Now they want the characters again, but they have to be cool characters, not baby characters.  Then into tweens and teens they don’t want the characters anymore, they want colors and designs.  You, the parent, just can’t win!

And finding just the perfect children’s swimwear is nearly impossible unless you happen to be the first one at the store when they put them on the racks in the late winter or early spring.  Unless, of course, you shop online.

Internet stores are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  You can find all kinds of children’s swimwear online.  You can find all sizes and all colors and styles and even all the characters that your children may or may not wear.  You can even find children’s swimwear with UV protection on the internet year round.

Now that you know where to find children’s swimwear, you just need to figure out how to find something that your child will wear without giving you a lot of hassle over it.  The best thing to do is to let your child shop for his or her own swimsuits.  There are a few ways you can do this.

You could go online and find a few websites that have swimsuits and/or prices that you like, and then set your child loose in the website to do their own shopping.  This works well for an older child who can understand a price limit that you set, and it is also somewhat educational if you ask the child to figure out the price of the swimsuits with shipping fees included.  If you have a younger child you can find several and then bring the child in to look at them and tell you which one he or she likes the best.

Allowing your child to pick out their own children’s swimwear is the best way to put any arguments to rest before they start about what your child will and won’t wear.  You have the power to say to your child, “You picked it out, now you have to wear it!”
